I Thought I Was Done Looking at Skincare Brands. Then I Found RINGANA.

Finding skincare you feel good about can take a little patience and some trial and error. You want thoughtful ingredients, but you also want a moisturizer that leaves your skin feeling comfortable, a cleanser that doesn’t leave it feeling tight and dry, and a routine that fits into your life.

And when you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or navigating thw the everyday busyness of motherhood, sorting through skincare labels can feel like one more thing on your list. That’s why I wanted to take a closer look at RINGANA, and why I wanted to write this review.

This Austrian brand takes a fresh approach to skincare, with vegan formulas, a shorter shelf life, and ingredients chosen to support your skin. Many of its products also carry COSMOS certification, which offers more information about how they’re made.

There’s a lot that caught my attention here. There are also a few things I want you to know before shopping, especially if you’re pregnant or looking for a very simple routine.

Skip the Research… It's Already Been Done

12+ years of label-reading, testing, and returns — these products earned their place on my Amazon store.

First, what Is RINGANA?

RINGANA is an Austrian skincare and supplement company founded in 1996 that’s brand new to the US market. According to the brand’s founding story, it began with something many of us can relate to: taking a closer look at a product their child was using. After reading the ingredients on their son’s toothpaste, the founders began exploring a different approach to personal care.

Today, RINGANA makes skincare, body care, hair care, and supplements, with product development and manufacturing based in Austria. And now, the company is now launching in the United States with a line of skincare and personal care products.

Why this brand caught my attention

I’m really happy with the clean beauty brands I already use, but I try to stay in the loop with clean brands, so naturally Ringana came across my radar (excuse the mixed metaphor, I have a new baby and serious mom brain happening!). And it really intrigued me.

Whenever I evaluate a brand, I always look at both what’s left out (the marketing) and what’s included (the ingredients), because if you just look at what’s been left out (aka the “free from” claims), you aren’t getting the full picture.

A clean ingredient list is always a much better starting point. But when I’m looking at beauty products, I also look at things with a different lens. I want efficacy. I want to understand what a formula offers your skin. Does it help replenish moisture? Support the skin barrier? Make dry skin feel softer and more comfortable?

That’s where RINGANA really shines. Their skincare line is made with functional ingredients like ceramides, squalane, ectoin, niacinamide, peptides, and plant oils. (Different products serve different needs, so you won’t find every ingredient in every formula, but these ingredients are needle-movers, and the ones I got most excited about.)

In fact, I was so impressed with the richness of RINGANA’s ingredients that I decided to become a founding partner for its U.S. launch, happening this November. And as always, I want to share the details that can help you decide whether it’s a good fit for you.

RINGANA’s product line

RINGANA has been around since the 90s, and they’re already selling in 38 international markets worldwide. Their entire product catalogue includes:

  • Facial cleansers and toners
  • Face creams, serums, and eye care
  • Body wash and body moisturizers
  • Hand and lip care
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Sunscreen
  • Baby care
  • Supplements

But we Americans don’t have full access to all of these products. Since they’re just entering the US market, their initial product selection is expected to be smaller than the full international range. Sunscreen and baby products are not expected to be included at launch, so keep that in mind if those are the products you’re hoping to explore.

However, RINGANA is possibly most known for its “Fresh Skincare” line, called fresh because the company makes its products in smaller batches, and even their skincare has expiration dates, with an approach built around using products within a defined freshness window. In fact, they’re so “fresh” that if you tend to keep several moisturizers open at once, or save skincare for later, you’ll want to pay attention to the dates and storage instructions.

A closer look at the ingredients

RINGANA’s ingredient standards are part of what drew me to the brand. They exclude several ingredients and ingredient classes that I generally avoid, such as certain parabens, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, some sensitizing preservatives, and ethoxylated ingredients. They also leave out ingredients like phenoxyethanol, silicones, and carbomer, which are so common in skincare products.

Many RINGANA products also carry the COSMOS certification through Ecocert, which I appreciate because it gives us something more specific to consider than a brand’s own description of being “clean.” COSMOS sets requirements covering areas such as ingredient sourcing, processing, manufacturing, and packaging.

Aside from what they don’t use, RINGANA uses some of the most effective skincare ingredients…

Ceramides: Ceramides are fats naturally found in your skin’s outer barrier. They help keep moisture in and support that protective layer. If your skin often feels dry or tight, ceramides are an ingredient worth looking for in a moisturizer. I appreciate formulas that support the skin barrier, especially when a simple routine is all you have time for. I know how valuable ceramides are because they were an integral part of caring for my son’s skin when he had eczema.

Squalane: Squalane helps soften the skin and replenish moisture, often with a lighter feel than richer oils or balms. It’s the kind of ingredient I like seeing in an everyday moisturizer: something that can help skin feel comfortable without making your routine feel complicated. This is an ingredient that I recommend in my cradle cap protocol, so it was also interesting to see it being used by RINGANA.

Ectoin: This one was new to me… Ectoin is used in skincare to support hydration and help protect against environmental stress. It caught my attention because moisture and skin comfort are often more useful everyday priorities than adding another intensive treatment.

Niacinamide: Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 used to support the skin barrier and improve the appearance of uneven tone and texture. It’s a versatile ingredient, though your experience will still depend on the concentration and the rest of the formula. This one I am excited about!

Peptides: Peptides are short chains of amino acids. In skincare, certain peptides are used to help improve the appearance of firmness and fine lines.

Plant Oils and Butters: Plant oils and ingredients such as shea butter can help soften dry skin and reduce that tight, uncomfortable feeling. Whether you prefer a lightweight cream or a richer moisturizer will depend on your skin and the season. There’s no need to choose the richest formula if a lighter one keeps your skin comfortable.

Retinal and Bakuchiol: Some RINGANA products include retinal or bakuchiol, which are ingredients used to address visible signs of aging. These deserve a little more consideration than a basic moisturizer, particularly during pregnancy. And just because an ingredient comes from a plant doesn’t mean we should assume it’s appropriate for every stage of motherhood.

A note for my pregnant mamas

For pregnancy, my rule is to always keep it simple… use fewer products, and primarily focus on single-ingredient products whenever possible.

My recommendation is to not start an extensive skincare program during pregnancy, but definitely avoid any of the products that use retinal. Topical retinoids are generally avoided during pregnancy as a precaution. That doesn’t mean you need to panic about past use; it means this is a product to discuss with your healthcare provider.

If you’re pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding, ask your OB-GYN or dermatologist to review the specific products you want to use. Recommendations can differ by ingredient and life stage.

For this reason, I wouldn’t give the entire RINGANA line a blanket “pregnancy-safe” label. Each product needs its own review, including products marketed as natural or gentle.

Final Thoughts on RINGANA

I am really excited about this new brand! I love the small-batch production approach and their ingredient choices. I will definitely be trying out all of their products (oh, they also sell supplements…).

If you decide to give it a try, be sure to keep in mind the shorter shelf life, but don’t let it steer you away from trying their products. In fact, if anything, knowing the products have a visible expiration date might help you stick to a skincare routine.

The Baby Industry Wants You to Overbuy.

Here’s the truth: Most baby registry lists are bloated on purpose. They're designed to sell you more stuff… not help you figure out what you actually need. You end up with 5 kinds of swaddles, 4 types of bottles, and a house full of gear you’ll barely use.

That’s why I created the Crunchy Baby Registry Bundle: an intentional, no-fluff approach that helps you confidently build a registry that fits your life (not a company's sales goals) and prepare for your baby with intention.
