Have you ever checked out a brand that claimed to be “clean” only to read the ingredients to find that their definition of clean and your definition don’t even come close? Me too — all the time.
I’m happy to report that this is NOT the case with Crunchi.
I’ve been using Crunchi’s skincare and makeup for over 5 years now, and let me say that Crunchi stands out from the crowd. Crunchi is a clean beauty brand founded by Kelly Kreusler and Melanie Petschke. The company’s mission is to “impact and empower lives by providing sustainable, clean beauty and personal care products that perform.”
In my opinion, Crunchi is doing a great job at this mission.
They sell high-performance clean skincare and makeup, made with high-quality, clean ingredients. When I first tried Crunchi makeup, I knew I had found a brand that worked as well as the mainstream beauty products I used for many years. That’s how I got hooked.
At the time of publishing, all of Crunchi’s products aim to be toxin-free and are:

Crunchi is Committed to Cleaner Ingredients
The beauty industry is one of the worst when it comes to using toxic ingredients. In fact, one of the best places to start when swapping out your products is what goes on your skin. Even some of the popular brands that are marketed as “clean” or “natural” contain questionable ingredients, so you truly need to choose your products carefully.
If you’re a natural mama like myself, you can probably relate to the disappointment that comes with seeing a hair or beauty product talked about on social media… only to look at the ingredients list and find that it contains a cocktail of toxic synthetic ingredients.
What I love about Crunchi is that they don’t add any of those shady ingredients that make you bat an eye. A few things you’ll never find in their products include:
- 1,4 Dioxane contributors
- PEGs
- Benzalkonium Chloride
- Phenoxyethanol
- Mineral Oils
- Parabens
- Grapefruit Seed Extract
- Bismuth Oxychloride
- Glycols
- Japanese Honeysuckle
- Loose Titanium Dioxide

They go out of their way to use organic ingredients as much as possible. For example, did you know that many lipsticks in stores today contain high levels of heavy metals and lead? That is not pregnancy-safe makeup or really, safe for anyone.
Instead, Crunchi uses EcoCert mineral pigments, which means they’re guaranteed to be free of synthetic components. Also, the EcoCert standard means that these companies stick to European standards and limits for heavy metals. European standards limit 12 heavy metals, not just the three named by the FDA.
NOTE: Crunchi does use Dimethicone to increase performance in some of their products. If you are looking for a foundation that doesn’t use this ingredient, try this brand instead.
My Favorite Crunchi Products: Top Picks
I need my makeup to be HIGH. PERFORMANCE. I don’t have time or patience for makeup that takes forever to apply and needs to look flawless.
Every single product I have tried from Crunchi (with a couple exceptions — see below) has been phenomenal and works wonderfully.

One of my all-time favorite clean beauty brands, Crunchi is a go-to for clean makeup. I use at least one of their products every single day.
- Hydrogloss Lip Oil: Hands down, the best lip gloss on the planet. The Hydrogloss lip oils take lip gloss to the next level. They come in glass tubes (they are all about sustainable packaging) and look and smell amazing. I could not recommend these MORE!
- Beautifully Flawless Foundation: This is the product. If you’re looking for a clean foundation that goes on smooth and doesn’t feel heavy, Crunchi is one of the top brands to consider. I like that it isn’t too light and isn’t too heavy; it just feels like a nice, proper foundation. But at the same time, it’s also functional… with skincare ingredients in the foundation like jojoba oil and hibiscul oil, the Flawless Foundation helps promote an even skin tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I don’t even need a full pump to cover my whole face.
- Everluxe Lip Crayon: Lipstick in a crayon form that goes on smoothly and feels great? Yes please! These are so easy to use and it takes just seconds to apply them, making these lip crayons extra convenient for a busy mom. (You have to try them to know what I mean!) I love Love Letter and Rosewood.
- Crunchi Eyeshadow: It has been hard for me to find a neutral eyeshadow palette that works well, has nice shades, and is talc-free. I do like the different shadow bars from Crunchi!
- Luminescence Highlighter: Crunchi’s pressed highlighter powder is completely underrated. It works so well and goes on beautifully. Love it!
Honestly, it’s too hard to pick just 5 makeup favorites. Every single makeup item I have tried from Crunchi has been *chef’s kiss* perfect.
If you are looking for a makeup brand that is high-performance and actually pretty clean, you can’t go wrong with Crunchi. Their makeup has helped me glow up up tremendously, and I feel really good about the products I use on my skin and around my kids.
My Top 5 Crunchi Skincare Products
Crunchi’s skincare products have an amazing feel on your skin. If you are looking for a more natural skincare option, Crunchi is a great brand to consider. Here are the products I love:
- Daylight Facial Cream: Daylight is an amazing daily moisturizer. I love applying this to my skin because it’s lightweight but it is so moisturizing at the same time. I haven’t found a product that has the same feel to it anywhere else.
- Goldenlight Multi-Peptide Facial Serum: Goldenlight is a nice, firming serum. It has a great feel to it and makes my skin feel very nourished and well-moisturized.
- Nightlight Facial Cream: This is a great night cream that feels amazing on your skin!
- Clarilight Facial Essence: I have used Clarilight as more of a toner and like the way it makes my skin feel a bit cleaner and firmer. I am not a huge toner fan, but I do like the way this tightens the skin.
- Charcoal Facial Bar: I didn’t realize how useful it was to wash my face with a charcoal-based soap until I tried their facial bar. It works great and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. It has also been great for keeping my blemishes to a minimum. I try to use this when I don’t have time for a face mask.
I’m also not a daily sunscreen user, but I do like how lightweight their sunscreen (SPF 30) is.
Products I Haven’t Tried (Yet!)
As an advocate, I get a nice discount on Crunchi products. But that doesn’t mean I have tried them all! Here are the products I haven’t tried:
- Goldenlight Multi-Peptide Facial Serum: Believe it or not, this is one of the most popular Crunchi products, but I haven’t tried it yet! It has been on my mind a lot, but I haven’t yet tried this one. I’ll report back when I do!
- Gentle Facial Bar: This is a simple facial soap that I haven’t used. I prefer the Charcoal Bar or a liquid face wash.
- I have not tried the Lip Crayon in every color, but I do have a few that I love (as I mentioned above).
- Cheekmate Liquid Blush: This looks amazing but I haven’t had a chance to order this yet. I need to run out of some of my other brands first. My next purchase!
- Smart Primer: I have heard that the primer makes the foundation go on even smoother, but I have never tried it myself.
- Accessories: Crunchi has a few accessories, including high-quality vegan makeup brushes. I have had my eye on the makeup bags for a while, but I haven’t purchased them yet.
Crunchi Products I Don’t Recommend
No honest Crunchi review is complete without any info on the products that aren’t so great. Honestly speaking, I have mostly loved every product I have tried from Crunchi except the I Am Bright Vitamin C Serum. I know a lot of people love this product, but it felt a little dry to me and didn’t seem to help my skin at all. I would not recommend this serum. Knowing my preferences, I probably should have gone with an oil instead of a serum, but I still am disappointed in this purchase.
I also have to say that their old twist eyeliner (Highliner) in the plastic container was hands down the best clean eyeliner on the market. However, they have since switched to a pencil eyeliner that doesn’t even compare to the original eyeliner. They shouldn’t even have the same name. I am so sad that they discontinued a perfect product like their old twist eyeliner. I have switched to a different eye pencil, but still, nothing compares to Crunchi’s discontinued OG Highliner.
The only other item I didn’t like (and returned) was the Lip Crayon in Savvy. It was 100% completely the wrong shade for me (I have olive skin, brown hair, and brown eyes).
I haven’t tried Crunchi’s mascara lately, but I did try it a few years ago and wasn’t very impressed. I’m sure it has improved since then, but I have been happy using a different brand so I haven’t needed to try it. Reviews are pretty mixed on it anyway (and it’s hard to find a clean mascara that actually works and doesn’t smudge within 30 seconds).
