Bath time is one of my favorite little pockets of the day… my kids get to splash and play, and I get a few sweet minutes to chat with them before bedtime. Getting them into the tub can be a whole adventure, but the promise of extra playtime always works. They adore their bath toys, and of course I’m picky about keeping everything as safe as possible.
Since baths are part of our nightly routine, I’m careful about what goes into the water with them. For me, it’s not enough for a toy to be labeled BPA-free or non-toxic; I look for options without PVC, phthalates, and other chemicals that can leach into warm bath water. I avoid plastic altogether when I can, and try to stick with natural rubber and silicone toys altogether.
So I put together a list of our favorite non-toxic bath toys that are fun, durable, and safe for everyday use. I hope it helps you make bath time a little easier and a lot more enjoyable in your home too.
Hevea Planet
Made in Malaysia. Made from natural rubber (latex) from the Hevea tree, all of Hevea’s natural rubber bath toys (and awesome bath mats) contain NO plastic, BPA, petroleum, phthalates, PVC, or artificial additives. Any pigments used are plant-based and/or food-grade, though most of their toys are pigment-free and just made from natural rubber. Their simple line of bath toys features characters such as a rubber duck (that’s actually made of rubber), a frog, and a fish. Your baby will enjoy lots of pretend play with these characters.
As a bit of a germophobe, I love that their bath toys are hermetically sealed (i.e. they don’t have those annoying holes in them) so there’s no concern over them growing mold inside. Hevea’s products are high quality and will last you a long time. I highly recommend these for non-toxic bath toys!
CaaOcho Bath Toys
Made in China. Also made with 100% natural latex rubber, CaaOcho Bath Toys are another great option for safer bath toys. Much like Hevea’s line of bath toys, CaaOcho toys are free of BPA, phthalates, PVC, and plastic. Their toys come in a variety of engaging and stimulating colors, and the company uses only food-grade water-based paints.
Mushie
Made in China. Mushie makes several baby products and they regularly make many of my product recommendation lists. One of the coolest ways I like to use their silicone toys is for the bath. They have several toys that are made specifically for the bath, as well as other silicone toys that would also make great non-toxic bath toys. (Note: avoid any of their foam bath toys and just stick with silicone.)
Fat Brain Toys
Made in China. Though their toys are manufactured in China, Fat Brain Toys makes some pretty cool and creative toys. (They also feature a large selection of toys that are made in the USA.) Their pipsquigz are a big hit in our home; they’re the only toy I’ve added to this list because they are 100% silicone. Other Fat Brain Toys bath toys are still lots of fun in the bath, but are made with plastic so I’ve left them off the list.

Tikiri Toys
Tikiri Toys is probably best known for their non-toxic dolls, but they also have a few adorable natural rubber (GOLS certified) ocean buddies toys that are made for bathtime play.
Begin Again Toys
One of my old favorites is the silicone bath toys set from Begin Again Toys! We had it for many years and loved them, but they grew harder and harder to find over the years. I am glad to report that I found them again! With everything from sea turtles to barnyard animals, their bath toy collection is sure to offer lots of bathtime fun for your little one! You can find some at Walmart, or shop their website for more selection.
I’m also starting to see more brands making silicone bath toys, which is great! You’ll find a few selections from brands like Haakaa on the non-toxic bath toys roundup I did on my Amazon store.
I hope you found some great non-toxic bath toys for your little ones! Do you have any favorites that I left off the list? Let me know!
MAMA TIP: Another fun thing I’ve recently started doing is reading to my kids in the bathtub. It’s a great way to get some extra reading time in every day. Be sure to check out my list of the top 25 books for babies.
In addition to buying non-toxic bathtime toys, another way to make bathtime fun is to add natural bath bombs for kids. These can be fun and functional (not to mention fizzy!). Bubble baths are great fun, too, especially as your little one gets a little older.
