35 Gift Ideas Every Pregnant Mama Will Adore

Creating new life and growing a baby is demanding, hard work. And even if the baby registry is covered, treating a pregnant mama to something special is incredibly thoughtful. Whether it’s gear for her new baby or pure pampering for mama, it’s all appreciated. Expecting mamas deserve it all!

So, if you’re shopping for a mom-to-be, here are more than 35 different gifts for expecting moms to make their journey a little easier. From books to comfortable clothes, I’ve got you covered!

1. A Diaper Bag

Every mom needs a diaper bag. Not only are these bags used for wipes and diapers, but you’ll also have extra clothes, bottles, snacks, toys, and other essentials. That said, the diaper bag is just as much about the baby as it is the parents. After all, the parents are the ones that have to carry the bag. Bags need to be comfortable with easy accessibility and function. But a little style isn’t so bad either!

I like the Fawn Design diaper bag because it’s designed to be very spacious—it will literally hold everything you can possibly bring along with you. At the same time, it falls in the right place on your back where you barely feel the weight of it. It’s so comfortable and definitely worth the investment. It also comes in a beautiful mini version if you are looking for a smaller bag.

2. Mama Necklace

Help the expecting mother mark this new phase of her life with a mama necklace. This is a great first Mother’s Day gift, even if the baby hasn’t arrived yet. There are tons of options available, such as this sterling silver necklace. This family necklace is also a simplistic version for moms who tend to like lower-key jewelry.

3. Treat Her to a Pregnancy Massage

While expecting moms have to be careful with massages, the right kind of prenatal massage can really help alleviate all of those pains and strains. Treat the soon-to-be-mom in your life with a gift card to a local massage place near you. Be sure the center is trained in prenatal massages before you choose one.

4. Prenatal Probiotics

An expecting mom’s gut flora is more important than ever. It plays an essential role in absorbing nutrients critical for healthy fetal development. So, the need for proper balance in the gut is super important, and probiotics can help with that. The American Pregnancy Association also states that probiotics can decrease eczema, stomach problems, and gestational diabetes, among other things.

Not all probiotics are made equal though. Of course, I recommend Biomeology Prenatal Probiotics as a clean and practical choice. Gifting a bottle or two of probiotics can help a mama take care of herself and might be just the thing she needs to alleviate her digestional or stomach problems!

5. Pregnancy Pajamas

Sleeping can be challenging when you’re pregnant! Whether due to back pain, acid reflux, or just sensitive skin, many pregnancy symptoms can get in the way of a good night’s sleep. This makes a pair of comfortable pajamas even more necessary. At the end of a long day, there is nothing more comforting than climbing into bed in a pair of buttery soft pajamas. For this reason, the Kindred Bravely Ultra Soft Maternity and Nursing pajamas are a great choice.

6. A Pregnancy Nutrition Book

While there are tons of books out there, Real Food for Pregnancy is probably the most revolutionary and helpful. It discusses everything an expecting mother needs to know about nutrition while pregnant and after giving birth. From food to environmental toxins and vitamins, it is truly one of the most practical pregnancy books out there. Plus, everything in it is backed up by recent studies.

Also check out our guide to the best pregnancy books.

7. Mama Bear T-Shirt

The Mama Bear shirt is a simple T-shirt that is also extremely comfortable. Since most pregnant and postpartum women can use whatever comfort they can get, I highly recommend this as an easy, fun gift!

8. Sitz Bath Herbs

After giving birth, sitz baths can be a lifesaver. But they’re often an overlooked part of a postpartum mom’s arsenal. After all, the hospital doesn’t send you home with sitz bath mixes! The Thena Natural Wellness Sitz Bath is perfect for reducing pain and discomfort after giving birth. It uses natural ingredients like Epsom salt and witch hazel. It’s a lot easier to take care of yourself when it’s already in your possession, ready-to-go! Help her prepare for recovery by stocking her postpartum arsenal with this essential.

9. Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Before and after birth, water intake is essential for an expecting mother. Pregnant women need to drink a lot of water to ensure there is enough amniotic fluid in their uterus, carry nutrients to the baby, and flush out toxins. And after birth, water is vital for breastmilk production and recovery. A stainless steel water bottle is a simple way to help an expecting mother get the water she needs to stay healthy.

10. A High-Quality Air Filter

Indoor air is often more polluted than outdoor air. If you think about it, pretty much everything inside a home is a potential pollutant, which is why I recommend a broad-spectrum filter to keep the expecting mother and later, the new baby, protected from possible air contaminants, including diseases, bacteria, and smoke. The Austin Air Filter is the best-of-the-best on the market. I also have and recommend the Air Doctor, which is a great option at a lower price point (read my Air Doctor review here).

11. Funny Pregnancy Shirts

If you and the mom-to-be have a sense of humor, you may want to consider a funny pregnancy shirt. I recommend this one and this one in particular. They’re funny and comfortable!

12. Belly Armor

Belly Armor is designed to shield a pregnant woman’s belly from EMF radiation given off by phones and laptops. It is lab-tested by a third-party in an FCC-certified laboratory, so you can be confident that it is the real deal. By draping the blanket over her belly, a mom can shield her baby from radiation exposure. It is lightweight, comfortable, and convenient!

13. Pregnancy Milestone Stickers

You’re only pregnant with your baby for a short time (even if it seems like forever)! Help the expecting mother document each step of the way with these pregnancy milestone stickers. They’re a cute way for her to take photos of her growing belly and to mark the weeks and months that pass by!

14. Something That Celebrates Her Faith

If you’re shopping for a Christian mama, the Christian Wisdom for Mamas book may be much appreciated. It can help guide any expecting mother through all the exciting and stressful periods of her pregnancy and early motherhood. This book features a daily devotional and specific topics to give clarity and wisdom throughout her nine months of pregnancy.

15. The Baby Registry Handbook

Setting up a baby registry can be complicated and stressful. After all, every company says that you need their products – and every mom eventually finds out that you need far less than you think. Knowing precisely what you should be getting for your baby is hard. Plus, it can be nearly impossible to keep up with which baby products are free of toxins and safe for babies.

Luckily, the Baby Registry Handbook helps expecting mothers sort through all of that in a complete and efficient way, making it the perfect book for mothers-to-be.

16. A Pregnancy Keepsake Book

This book is a unique and personalized alternative for expecting mothers who don’t want to do a conventional baby book. Letters to My Child is a beautifully designed keepsake book that gives expecting mothers the chance to chronicle their experiences and thoughts as they go through pregnancy and those early baby months. Children will love to read through these letters later in life and cherish them as a unique, genuine treasure.

17. Wool Body Pillow

Every pregnant woman deserves an intensely comfortable body pillow. However, you don’t want to get her just any body pillow. For this reason, I recommend this wool body pillow. This organic all-wool body pillow will keep her body temperature regulated and offer just the right amount of support, which we all know can be a huge help when pregnant!

18. Earth Mama Gift Set

The Earth Mama Gift Set includes plenty of organic herbal products for pregnancy. This self-care set includes travel-sized body wash, belly butter, belly oil, and orange ginger lip balm. Even the packaging is made with eco-friendly materials.

19. Sonogram Picture Frame

Most pregnant mamas get sonogram pictures at some point during their pregnancy. A sonogram picture frame is an easy way to display these pictures that usually end up hanging on the fridge. (Another idea is to store yours in a special place; I keep all of mine in my fancy Bible.)

This could be a great addition to the nursery as well.

20. Birkenstocks

The iconic Birkenstocks are sandals designed to absorb shocks thanks to the extra-plushy footbed. They’re incredibly soft and mimic a foot’s shape, providing extra comfort – which we all know is exactly what a pregnant mom needs! From swollen feet to just needing some extra comfort when carrying a heavy baby, these sandals are perfect for both expecting and postpartum mamas!

21. An Organic Mattress

An excellent, supportive and comfortable mattress can be just what a pregnant woman needs to sleep somewhat-soundly during the night. However, the average mattress can contain various chemicals that can off-gas into the air and generally aren’t good to have around a developing baby. An organic mattress cuts all the chemicals out and is a safer alternative.

There are a few I recommend. Naturepedic has organic mattresses you can choose from ranging from extra firm to plush. My Green Mattress is another reliable option. Both brands produce quality, certified organic mattresses that are comfortable and healthy for the whole family.

22. UGGs

Everyone knows that UGGs are incredibly versatile and comfortable. When you’re carrying around 20 extra pounds and dealing with swollen feet, they are even more comfortable! Gift a mama a pair especially if she’s expecting in the winter months. These will get daily use!

23. A Book About Becoming a Mom

This sweet picture book is perfect for mamas-to-be. It’s a beautiful representation of pregnancy and childhood, and a wonderful read for both mother and baby. It features beautiful illustrations and depicts the heartwarming truths about being a mother.

24. Clean Beauty Products

Pregnant women often need to re-think their beauty products. Many popular brands include toxins like fragrances and BPAs, which can be harmful to a developing baby. It’s not uncommon for pregnant women to switch out a lot of their products for cleaner ones. You can lend a helping hand by gifting some clean beauty products, like the ones by Crunchi.

Crunchi banishes a long list of toxic ingredients found in mainstream conventional makeup and skincare brands. They aim to set new standards in the beauty industry and have created some really amazing and safe products for women of all ages.

25. Comfy Pregnancy Socks

You may be noticing that the theme of comfort is prevalent throughout this gift list! Pregnancy can come with all sorts of uncomfortable symptoms, so any gift that makes an expectant mama feel better can be a huge mood boost. Queue: comfy socks! There is nothing quite as good as a nice pair of thick, soft pregnancy socks, especially in the winter months. These socks also have some cute phrasing on the bottoms!

26. Motherlove Gift Box

The Motherlove Box includes a variety of self-care products. It includes natural products like nipple cream, sitz bath spray, and diaper balm. It’s the perfect gift that pampers both the pregnant and postpartum mama!

27. Letterboard

A letter board is another fun gift that can be used to document timelines and milestones along the way. From belly bumps to baby photos, letter boards are fun to put together, take photos, and share with friends and family.  It’s really versatile and can be used for years to come!

28. Organic Beddding

Both pregnant women and babies can be extremely sensitive to the chemicals found in conventional sheets, so opting for organic bedding is an excellent gift option! Organic bed sheets are manufactured without chemicals and toxins and typically made of high-quality organic cotton. Luckily, they are readily available and easy to find. Target has a great line of organic bedding.  So does My Green Mattress (and they are amazing quality)!

29. Maternity Leggings

Finding the most perfect pair of maternity leggings is comparable to finding pure gold. Maternity leggings like those offered by Kindred Bravely are a comfortable clothing option before and after pregnancy. And women wear them a lot! They provide extra belly support both during pregnancy and during the postpartum period, and also just make a woman feel a little more put together than pajama pants!

30. Maternity Gown

As a mother’s pregnancy reaches the final month, she will probably be wearing maternity gowns more often. These are good options when practically everything else has become uncomfortable. Plus, you can labor in them, and they are useful for postpartum recovery.

31. Breastfeeding Activewear

Postpartum activewear can be just what a new mama needs. Whether she is trying to begin exercising again or just wants some semblance of togetherness in those early and hectic weeks, activewear can be a new mom’s uniform. The key is to find activewear that enables breastfeeding. Plenty of regular clothing is designed for breastfeeding. However, finding activewear can be challenging. I recommend the activewear by Love and Fit. It’s designed for easy access to breastfeeding and is completely functional and supportive.

32. Whisper Bidet

After giving birth, a bidet can be a helpful tool to help a new mom heal from delivery. Bidets can gently clean and help to alleviate any pain or tenderness associated with swelling and stitches. Just like a sitz bath, a bidet will help to speed recovery following delivery. I promise a new mama will thank you greatly!Tushy Bidet

33. Haakaa Breast Pump

A Haakaa is a must-have tool for any breastfeeding mother. This silicone breast pump uses pure suction to draw milk out . Unlike a regular breast pump, a Haakaa is specifically designed to use while you’re breastfeeding. Place the baby on one breast, and the Haakaa on the other to catch both the letdown and additional hindmilk that will naturally expel with the Haakaa suction. This allows mothers to build up a store of breastmilk without doing any extra pumping! It’s a great, easy gift that a breastfeeding mama will use often.

34. A Premium Stroller

There is nothing better than a Nuna stroller. Known for their streamlined designs, functional products, and quality materials, their strollers are no exception! A Nuna stroller will make the perfect gift for any mama-to-be.

36. A Baby Milestone Blanket

A milestone blanket is an easy way to track a baby’s development over their first year of life. Plus, the blanket is perfectly useful as a regular blanket as well, unlike most milestone trackers. I like this blanket by Pondering Pine because it is organic and super soft!

36. The Nourishing Traditions Book

Nourishing Traditions is all about holistic advice for pregnancy and child care. It discusses the principles of traditional nutrition and includes natural treatments for a variety of common problems. This book is great for the natural-minded mama who wants to think about spiritual development alongside physical well-being, too.

38. Indoor Plants

Adding a dose of green to an expecting mother’s home can freshen up a home and last throughout the pregnancy and postpartum months – even if she doesn’t have the greenest thumb! Plants have been shown to decrease stress and can help with indoor air quality.

Happy Shopping!

I hope this guide helps you choose the perfect gift for the expectant mama in your life! She will love any of these gifts – small or big! You can find even more gifting ideas on my list of non-toxic gifts for moms and my guide to non-baby gifts for moms.
